The department of Social studies came out with a new three-year bachelor's degree programme named EDI, which effectively connects three main topics not only for social educators.
The Faculty of Eduacation of Masaryk University is introducing this new programme thanks to Mgr. et Mgr. Markéta Košatková, Ph.D. and Mgr. Zdeněk Janík, M.A., Ph.D. The programme is intended (but not only) for international students and it is going to be taught in English. Speaking of this programme, it brings a modern, sensitive way of teaching the specifics of education, diversity, inclusion and cultural sensitivity. Students are offered subjects from three professional orientations, which include:
- Special and Inclusive Education
- Education and Psychology
- Social Education
One of the conditions for admission is attending a motivational interview which will take place in an on-line form and also the knowledge of English language (at least a B1 level) is required. The submission deadline is 30 April 2023. The bachelor's degree programme has got a tuition fee of €2,400 per academic year.
Thanks to the professional focus the students will get the opportunity to work not only in the local labour market but also in the international. They might find a place in the:
- non-profit and corporate sector
- education
- facilitation, mentoring and coaching.
During four semesters the students will go through several internships that will be reflected afterwards. The peak of the studies will be a 12weeks long internship abroad, during which the students will get a supportive mentoring. At the end of the study programme the students will work on a project in a form of a case study, and they will be asked to present it and defend it at the degree examination.
The first class of this programme will be welcomed in September 2023.
